Kathleen Gilbert Loomis was a loving wife, mother, daughter and caregiver to many. Not only was she a professional caregiver, she helped to take care of her father, great-aunt, and great-uncle until they each passed away. Born with natural maternal instincts, being a mother was always a dream of hers. When several different avenues to conceive did not work, she and her husband, Michael, decided to foster a child.  It was not long before they adopted three girls and fostered several other children, including children with special needs.

In 2007, Kathleen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away a little over a year later.  Her dying wish was to not be forgotten. Raising Hope for Others was formed in her memory and continues to care for others just as Kathleen did during her life time.
